Modulo WMH weighing platform and WM weighing modules from Mettler-Toledo Inc . meet the demands of harsh environments and provide precision weighing. Products bring split-second, milligram-range weighing to industrial applications. Modulo family of sensors are custom built for the automation industry, says the manufacturer. Units can be integrated into an existing process to allow evaluation of measured parameters while sequential weighing is concurrently conducted outside the process. In addition, they can determine, in fractions of a second, whether a pellet, a molded article, a sinter piece, or a subassembly meets quality criteria. Two product lines are available. Weighing modules cover a weight range of 120 grams to 6 kg at a resolution of 0.1 mg to 0.01 grams. Weighing platform comes in sizes from 15 kg x 0.1 grams up to 600 kg x 10 grams. Platform is IP67 rated.

ES1B infrared thermosensor from Omron Corp. provides an accurate, highly stable, cost-effective way to measure the temperature of objects.
Omron ’s new infrared thermosensor provides an accurate, highly stable, cost-effective way to measure the temperature of objects. ES1B produces an output signal in mV that is proportional to the temperature of the object, like a standard thermocouple. However, it has no contact with the object it is measuring. Non-contact device is well suited for the food manufacturing industry and other hygienic applications. Silicon-based and IP65 protection makes it resistant to dust and water. Because it behaves like a standard K-type thermocouple, it can operate with any temperature controller or alarm unit. It comes in four models, each calibrated for a specific temperature range (10-70 °C, 60-120 °C, 115-165 °C, and 140-260 °C). Active sensor can be mounted up to 40% farther away from the measure object than a passive IR sensor.
Keithley Instruments ’ reference book, Low Level Measurements Handbook: Precision DC Current, Voltage, and Resistance Measurements, has been updated and is available at no charge. The 244-page handbook describes theoretical and practical considerations involved in the measurement of low dc currents, high resistances, low dc voltages, and low resistances. Sixth edition reflects new measurement techniques for making accurate electrical measurements on small devices. It also contains an updated instrument selection guide, glossary, and troubleshooting guide. New to this version is a section on safety considerations when making precision electrical measurements.
