Courtesy: WagoThe Wago Perspecto CP TV merges an HMI and a PLC into one package. Unlike traditional configurations that use separate programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware and software and human machine interface (HMI) hardware and software, the CP TV offers an all-in-one solution for logic and visualization, thereby reducing overall costs and development time, the company said.

The hardware features five sizes of thin film transistor (TFT) touchscreens (3.5-in., 5.7-in., 10.4-in., 12.1-in., and 15-in.), as well as an expansive selection of ports: Ethernet (Modbus/TCP), CANopen, USB, RS-232, and RS-485. In addition to connectivity requirements, performance is also optimized with scaled processing power up to 1.6 GHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, and 128 MB of Flash memory. Removable memory expansion (up to 2 GB) also is possible via microSD, SD, or Compact Flash card for applications such as program backup and restore, recipe exchange, data logging, and more.

The IEC 61131 compatible Wago-I/O-Pro software is the all-in-one development tool for Perspecto CP TV’s logic programming and graphic screen editing. Offered as a site license, the tool includes six programming languages (IL, LD, FBD, ST, FC, and CFC), custom graphic development, as well as access to pre-built graphic libraries and function blocks. The result is an integrated solution that allows any PLC variable to be easily assigned to a graphic element.

Additional features and capabilities include:

  • Log trend and event data—open stored data in spreadsheets for analysis.
  • Integrated web server — remote access and network-wide streaming of dynamic HMI screens.
  • FTP server enables data exchange between networked devices.
  • Leverage the benefits of the Wago-I/O-System for I/O requirements.
