Moxa EDR-810 Router/Switch provides an all-in-one cyber security solution, saving extra deployment costs and efforts necessary with multiple devices. Courtesy: MoxaMoxa, a provider of industrial networking solutions, added to its Ethernet Gigabit-performance cyber security family with the EDR-810 series, an industrial multiport secure router with Firewall/NAT/VPN and managed L2 switching functions. The EDR-810 can transmit data efficiently and protect the network and critical devices from cyber attacks. The EDR-810’s integration of security and networking functionality into one device saves extra deployment cost and effort. Moxa announced the device in June; the VPN function is available this month.     

Key features of the EDR-810 Secure Router include:

  • Deep Modbus TCP packet inspection for firewall filtering
  • NAT supports N-to-1, 1-to-1, and port-forwarding deployment
  • Flexible configuration of multiple WAN and LAN ports
  • 20 VPN connections for secure remote management (VPN model)
  • Operating temperature range for the T model of -40 C to 75 C

Gigabit cyber security minimizes security risks

Moxa’s Gigabit-performance security routers can be deployed in networks that need secure remote access or remote monitoring of field assets, and provides an electronic security perimeter for that protects critical cyber assets, such as pumping/treatment systems in water stations, DCS systems in oil and gas applications, and PLC/SCADA systems in factory automation. The EDR series provides enhanced cyber security to address to the three key vulnerabilities of the automation networks shown in the table below.
