With more than 800 process companies as customers and more than 100,000 Protean and Prism users worldwide, Invensys reports that its Production Solutions unit is the leader in delivering operational compliance and control solutions to process manufacturing industries. Production Solutions allows pharmaceutical, life sciences, food and beverage, chemical and other process-related industries to control manufacturing operations, control costs, improve quality, and minimize time to market.

Production Solutions also moves Protean and Prism out of the Baan organization and into Invensys Validation Technologies group, which supplies regulatory-compliant solutions, and is part of the Invensys Production Management division. Baan’s product line is reported to be a leader in discrete enterprise manufacturing, and Invensys adds that this latest announcement will enable both organizations to use their full strength in their industry sectors.
