Mansfield, MA— To help minimize cybersecurity threats to I/A Series system users, Invensys and Verano Inc. recently agreed to jointly market Verano's Industrial Defender Watch solution. Invensys will resell, implement, and support Industrial Defender Watch as part of a comprehensive industrial security solution for its I/A Series system users. Verano provides of cybersecurity management and control solutions for mission-critical industrial operations.
Industrial Defender Watch consolidates monitoring and detection of potential security breaches to the control network, including control system applications, servers, firewalls, as well as other security devices. The partners say it will play a key role in Invensys' comprehensive security solution for I/A Series.
'Verano's Industrial Defender Watch is unique because it offers the only available real-time security monitoring technology specifically designed for mission-critical industrial control systems,' says John Eva, Invensys Process Systems' VP and GM of customer service and support. 'The design of our I/A Series system provides a high degree of inherent protection against external threats. Using Verano's control system security technology, other security products and Invensys-provided management and technology services, will help minimize potential cybersecurity threats to mission-critical I/A Series applications.'
The two firms add that, until now,commercially available off-the-shelf enterprise security solutions offering a first line of defense. However, a comprehensive solution must include a variety of isolation technologies combined with monitoring and notification systems. Failure to deploy suitable technology that serves the function ofmonitoring, detection and notification of security events, leave plant personnel unaware of compromises that can jeopardize the availability and reliability of their systems and assets.
