Moxa’s new ioMirror E3000 peer-to-peer I/O server provides an easy way to connect input signals to remote outputs over an IP network. It transmits input signals over a network without requiring a PLC or PC as a controller. Signal mapping is handled automatically by ioMirror hardware. No ladder or C programming is required.
Moxa’s new ioMirror E3000 peer-to-peer I/O server provides an easy way to connect input signals to remote outputs over an IP network. It transmits input signals over a network without requiring a PLC or PC as a controller. Signal mapping is handled automatically by ioMirror hardware. No ladder or C programming is required. ioMirror servers can be installed on a network to connect remote sensor signals to PLC controllers, DCS systems, or display devices, without additional signal wires.
Input signals can be easily extended over Ethernet from one ioMirror server to another, without programming or a separate controller. Ethernet makes this a powerful way to increase the range of input signals for remote control and monitoring applications, says Moxa. Using ioMirror for signal extension also reduces wiring costs, eliminates signal degradation problems, and helps connect to areas where physical access is limited or difficult.
The ioMirror servers are configured using ioAdmin for Microsoft Windows, which can be run from a local or remote host to set up input-to-output signal mapping between the devices. Basic Configuration is provided for simple mapping of all channels from one server to another. Advanced Configuration is used for customized channel-to-channel mapping and allows one input channel to be mapped to up to 16 output channels. Server relationships and signal direction are presented with simple graphics to make signal mapping quick and accurate.
