Houston, TX— Developed using patented sonar array technology, CiDRA ’s Sonartrac flow monitoring system provides a non-intrusive means of accurately and repeatedly measuring single and multi-phased medias including pulp slurry, sewage, and those with entrained air. CiDRA says Sonartrac provides 0.05% accuracy, is available in one to 56 inch sizes, and its clamp-on design can be installed in

The company reports thatrated by turbulent pipe flows. As a result, Sonartrac can provides accurate, reliable, non-intrusive and robust flow measurements for a wide range of single-phase and multiphase flows. Also, because Sonartrac's clamp-on configuration can be installed on existing process lines, it eliminates process disruptions associated with installing other types of flowmeters.

Sonar flow processing uses two separate, but synergistic measurement techniques. The first measurement tracks volumetric flow rate by tracking turbulent eddies in the process flow. The second measurement uses the speed at which sound propagates through the fluid to provide compositional information.

CiDRA adds that sonar techniques have been used for more than 40 years in underwater acoustic applications, such as submarine detection and tracking. CiDRA's proprietary technology was initially developed for flow measurement in
