Sunnyvale, Calif. - Jungo Software Technologies Inc. announced support for USB 2.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP in version 5.4 of its driver development toolkits.

Jungo's driver development toolkits enable developers to create high performance drivers for USB peripheral devices. In this release, Jungo's toolkits enable device driver development for USB 2.0 peripherals in addition to the long-standing USB 1.1 support. The toolkits support Control, Bulk, Interrupt, and Isochronous data transfers, pipe reset and device reset operations, and support both low and high speed devices under EHCI, UHCI, and OHCI host controllers.

USB 2.0 increases the speed of the peripheral to PC connection forty fold compared with USB 1.1 (from 12 Mbps on USB 1.1 to 480 Mbps on USB 2.0) - a major advancement for external peripherals that demand high bandwidth.

"The penetration of the USB 2.0 technology into the consumer device market will encourage device vendors to seek out the most cost effective and efficient means to minimize development bottlenecks," said Roy Tannenbaum, product manager at Jungo. "With any consumer product opportunity, time to market is crucial. Jungo provides tools that merge next generation technology with user-friendly interfaces, to ensure that our customers can successfully meet their scheduling and product development objectives."

Free full featured, 30 day evaluation versions of WinDriver, KernelDriver and Hardware Debugger 5.04, with the new USB 2.0 support, are available for download from the Jungo web site at: www.jungo.com/dnload.html .

Founded in 1998, Jungo Software Technologies Inc. is a privately held company with corporate offices in Sunnyvale CA and Taipei Taiwan, and an R&D center in Israel. Jungo's driver development product line, featuring WinDriver, enables developers to quickly create drivers for custom devices that can run on a multitude of operating systems without modification. Jungo's high-availability product line, including GO-HotSwap, provides a complete solution for the CompactPCI high-availability market.
