KickStart Kit for Atmel AVR UC3 development projects

IAR KickStart Kit

By Control Engineering Staff January 9, 2008

The latest IAR KickStart Kit from IAR Systems provides users of the Atmel AVR32 UC Core with the tools to begin a development project. The kit comprises an EVK1100 development board from Atmel, a 32kB code-limited edition of IAR Embedded Workbench for AVR32, and an optional JTAGICE MKII debug probe from Atmel. The workbench was originally developed in parallel with the AVR32 architecture to ensure that the interaction between hardware and generated code would utilize advanced features of the core. It uses the single-cycle load/store and DSP instructions in the AVR32 UC core. This, combined with the intelligent optimization capability of the compiler, results in a minimum memory requirement and excellent per-cycle throughput. The EVK1100 board supports AT32UC3A. Peripheral features include an Ethernet port; light and temperature potentiometer sensors; 20 character x 4 line blue LCD display; connectors for JTAG, Nexus, USART, USB, TWI, and SPI; and an SD/MMC card reader.
