Philadelphia, PA– A lot of learning about life sciences and automation efficiency will be going on in late March as two major industry shows converge on Philadelphia. Visitors will attend targeted educational presentations, network with colleagues, see new technologies, and honor their peers at Interphex and

WBF

.

Pennsylvania Convention Center hosts Interphex , a life sciences event that represents a cross-section of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. A source for technology, education, and sourcing of products and services that drive scientific innovation for life sciences manufacturing from drug development to market and accelerating regulated products for patient care globally, it will co-locate with PharmaMedDevice, which focuses on medical devices and the pharmaceutical and biologic industries.

This year, Interphex has partnered with Biotechnica, Europe’s leading biotechnology show, to feature Biotechnica America. A keynote entitled Biotech 2008: A 20/20 Vision of 2020 will be presented Wednesday, March 26, by G. Steven Burrill, CEO, Burrill & Co. Other highlights that complement educational sessions include Innovation to Commercialization: Executive Life Science Panel Discussion on Thursday, March 27, and the presentation of From Pandemics to Bioterrorism: The Role of Bio Manufacturing in Global Healthcare on Friday, March 28. WBF 2008 North American Conference

, Shaping the Future of Manufacturing, will take place separately, March 24-27, at the Dolce Valley Resort and Conference Center in nearby King of Prussia. A detailed

WBF conference program

aims to improve manufacturing efficiencies, including through various standards efforts, such as ISA88 Part 5, among others. Various forums will honor William M. Hawkins, a former WBF board member, trustee, and treasurer; Guido Carla Stella; Tom Fisher; Vern Trevathan; and Dale E. Seborg. A vendor showcase is included. WBF attendees will have the opportunity to visit Interphex, March 26-28 in the Philadelphia Convention Center. A bus will be available Thursday morning, March 27, to take WBF attendees to the convention center or to the airport. Register for the WBF event online before March 21.
