Courtesy: MTS SensorsMTS Sensors' RT4 linear position measurement sensors feature two independent sensor elements. Each has a measuring length of 50 to 2540 mm. The RT4 is designed for use in steel processing plants, lumber mills, and power generation sites. It also employs a synchronous serial interface (SSI), which makes data transfer less susceptible to the presence of electro-magnetic interference. In addition, the IP68-rated enclosure protects against the threat of liquid ingress. The RT4's detached electronics can be mounted up to 600 mm away from the sensing environment allowing the electronics to be kept further from sources of potential harm. The sensor rod and interconnection cables are supported by a temperature range up to 100 C. The RT4's Temposonics magnetostrictive sensor technology allows for precise, non-contact position measurement data to be acquired.
