St. Paul, MN - Lion Precision , a supplier of capacitance sensing technology, announced the formation of a new product group specializing in inductive displacement sensing technology. Lion Precision Inductive (Colorado Springs, CO) will focus on eddy current and other inductive technologies in developing non-contact displacement sensors and systems for use in a wide variety of industries.

''Our product release schedules are very aggressive'', says Scott Welsby, head of the Colorado Springs operation, ''with the years of experience, and the level of expertise we have here in Colorado Springs, we are confident of meeting the quality, performance, and timing expected of us.''

The first products are expected to be released late in 2002. According to Dan Spohn, sales and marketing manager for the inductive product line, ''Product development is being driven by user input from industries with a record of inductive sensor usage.''

The company's strategy is to employ user input to bring innovation to the inductive sensing arena. ''Lion Precision has always been a company that depends on our customers to help us develop the products they need,'' says Don Martin, president.
