Irvine, CA — Toshiba Teli America, Inc. expanded its FireDragon line of progressive scan cameras with the model CCSFU15CC18, said to be a UXGA resolution (1,600 px by 1,200 px) color camera incorporating FireWire-B (IEEE-1394.b) technology. The company says the camera provides extremely fast image-signal output rates of 800 Mbps. This mix of high speed and high resolution makes it, the company says, ideal for OEM solutions in robotic vision, electronics inspection, semiconductors or microscopy.

In addition to increasing full-frame color transfer rates up to 15 frames-per-second, the CCSFU15CC18’s use of FireWire-B enables it to achieve outstanding imaging results with less signal distortion, increased throughput, and the added versatility afforded by its backwards compatibility with conventional 1394.a.

The camera features a 14 mm (0.555 inch) CCD, the camera measures only 44 mm x 29 mm x 44 mm, allowing its integration into smaller machine vision systems. Other performance features include full-frame shutter, even at random-trigger shutter operations, to provide vertical resolution without degradation; a tetragonal lattice layout of 4.40
