“These new unified software solutions are designed to help manufacturers reduce inventory costs and improve production order leadtime for rapid responses to changes in demand, as well as increase the capacity of existing assets through improvements in asset utilization,” said Claus Abildgren, Wonderware marketing program manager. “A key aspect of this integration is to empower production workers to become leaders in continuous improvement efforts by having real-time production information at their fingertips,” Abildgren says.
The applications offer enhanced integration with Wonderware’s System Platform and InTouch HMI software, which provide a common strategic industrial application services platform on top of an existing system. These are built on industry standards-based ArchestrA real-time service-oriented architecture (SOA) technology to provide an MES, EMI (enterprise manufacturing intelligence), HMI (human-machine interface), and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) solution with a single unified software platform.
Operations Software 3.4 is offered in two editions including Standard and Premium, with each providing incremental levels of MES functionality and support to customers who require a scalable MES approach to start with fundamental ROI and evolve the solution toward operational excellence. Performance Software 3.4 is a component of the company’s EMI offerings that include new features for tracking an unlimited number of reasons for equipment downtime, plus unlimited calculations of overall equipment effectiveness. Both offerings provide a path for existing users and work in conjunction with other software applications.
Integration of these new operations and performance capabilities provides logical data models for plant equipment and production activities, the ability to define reusable templates for operational functions, and intuitive user interfaces via a range of Microsoft .NET controls.
