Metso to supply valves, analyzers for Brazilian pulp mill project

Helsinki, Finland—Metso Automation will supply valves and online analyzers for the Veracel Celulose S.A. pulp mill project in Brazil. Total value of the delivery will exceed 6 million euros.

Helsinki, Finland— Metso Automation will supply valves and online analyzers for the Veracel Celulose S.A. pulp mill project in Brazil. Total value of the delivery will exceed 6 million euros. Start-up of the mill is scheduled for mid-2005 in Eunapolis, state of Bahia.

A joint venture of Stora Enso Oyj and Aracruz Celulose S.A., the new mill will produce eucalyptus-based kraft pulp. It will also use its latest technology to minimize environmental impact.

Metso’s contribution will include more than 1,000 automated valves for the mill’s fiber line, chemical recovery and water treatment process. In addition, Metso will deliver online analyzers, which will be included in the controls of the fiber line’s delignification and pulp brightness proc-esses, and in the causticizing controls of the white liquor plant.
