Chandler, AZ– Microchip Technology Inc., provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, has acquired Brisbane, Australia-based Hi-Tech Software, provider of development tools for embedded systems. With the addition of Hi-Tech Software, Microchip users now have the option to develop their C code using the Mac OS X and Linux operating systems. Microchip now provides a full range of compilers supporting all Microchip devices, from the smallest 8-bit PIC10 microcontroller (MCU) to the largest 32-bit PIC32 MCU. More

advanced microprocessors add capabilities to CNCs

and other automated machinery.
Hi-Tech may be best known for its high-performance ANSI C compilers, including the optimizing, whole-program compilation technology, Omniscient Code Generation. Hi-Tech Software has been a premier third-party provider of C compilers for Microchip’s 8-, 16- and 32-bit PIC microcontrollers (MCUs) and dsPIC Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs) for over a decade.
Hi-Tech customers should continue to contact Hi-Tech through normal sales and support channels. Until Sept. 30, 2009, Microchip is offering a 20% discount on Microchip development tools for Hi-Tech customers through www.microchipdirect.com , and a 50% exchange discount to owners of Hi-Tech compilers for non-Microchip products. www.htsoft.com or contact support@htsoft.com . All Hi-Tech compilers for Microchip’s PIC MCUs and dsPIC DSCs are also available from www.microchipdirect.com .

Case Study Database

Get more exposure for your case study by uploading it to the Control Engineering case study database, where end-users can identify relevant solutions and explore what the experts are doing to effectively implement a variety of technology and productivity related projects.

These case studies provide examples of how knowledgeable solution providers have used technology, processes and people to create effective and successful implementations in real-world situations. Case studies can be completed by filling out a simple online form where you can outline the project title, abstract, and full story in 1500 words or less; upload photos, videos and a logo.
