Portescap N Series slotted brushless dc motors from Danaher Motion are available in sizes 5, 6, 9, and 11 for medical and electronic assembly applications that require high speed and sizes 12, 14, and 15 for industrial applications requiring high torque. N Series motors run at 100,000 rpm to provide less heat. Operating temperature of a 0.9 in. (22 mm) 50,000 rpm running motor has been reduced by 25 °C over previous models. Efficiency of up to 80% facilitates longer battery life and reduces energy consumption in such applications as electronic assembly and textiles. Internal design minimizes torque ripple for smooth operation throughout the motor’s operating range. Options include autoclavability features, a high-count encoder, resolver, custom shafts, shaft seals, and high temperature ratings.
