Miniature infrared temp sensor can replace thermocouples
Non-contact technology offers fast response, high accuracy.
New mini IR temperature sensor from E-Instruments Group uses non-contact measuring capability, well suited to difficult applications where traditional sensing technologies prove problematic.
The IRtec Rayomatic 6 infrared temperature sensor can be used as a direct replacement for
J- and K-type thermocouples in applications where direct contact is not required. E-Instruments says the small size, high performance, and low cost of the unit make it a versatile tool for many installation:
Measures temperatures up to 500 °C (932 °F) in ambient temperatures up to 200 °C (392 °F);
Accuracy up to
Duplicates J- or K-type thermocouple output or mV signal output;
Response time of 300 ms; and,
6:1 distance to spot ratio.
E-Instruments can provide a NIST traceable calibration report.
