London, U.K .—Mitsubishi Electric recently announced a joint development with Steeplechase Software (Ann Arbor, Mich.) to provide PC-based control as an alternative to its standard programmable controller offering. The PC package works with either "A Series" or FX distributed I/O devices. The jointly developed MX Computer Control package is a private-label version of Steeplechase's Visual Logic Controller software. It was developed with Microsoft Windows NT and uses NT for the operator interface, but runs under the iRMX real-time engine for security and performance.
