Unitronics announces the launch of the Unitronics UniStream, its new generation of modular all-in-one programmable logic controller (PLC). This new line results from more than 20 years of PLC development experience combined with the strongest automation trends, the company said. UniStream has a dual CPU, human machine interface (HMI) touch panels, and a variety of I/O modules. Customize the all-in-one controller by snapping a CPU to an HMI and adding the I/O needed. The Unitronics UniStream gives original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or system integrators a competitive edge in efforts to cut costs, save space, and significantly lower programming time, the company said.

Programmers and customers using UniStream receive one of the best user experiences in the market today, the company said. The intuitive Unitronics UniLogic studio software cuts programming time by 50% by predicting programmer’s intentions and reusing written code. Programmers build a library of user defined function blocks and HMI screens that can be imported to new projects or shared. The software’s predictions save significant time on definitions of I/O points, proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control algorithms, and more. The drag-and-drop, automatic line creation, and re-use options for existing code make programming quick and easy.

Another large enhancement is the Unitronics UniApps, an expanding library of value-added PLC embedded applications. UniApps can reach data, edit it, monitor, troubleshoot, debug the system, and more. As required in today’s world, Unitronics UniStream can be accessed remotely via PC and smartphones.

The modular PLC supports RS485, CANopen, UniCAN, and Modbus (serial and Ethernet), and it can adapt to third-party protocols. USB and serial ports support external devices, such as modems, printers, barcode readers, and other devices. Unitronics provides free software and technical support.
