Molex's SST PB3-CPX modules are designed to connect controllers to Profibus DP-V0 and DP-V1 networks and are designed for industrial automation applications. Courtesy: MolexMolex's SST PB3-CPX Modules are designed to connect controllers to Profibus DP-V0 and DP-V1 networks. The modules are designed for industrial automation applications and are compatible with Master DP-V0 Class-1; Master DP-V1 Class-1 and Class-2; and Slave DP-V0 protocols. SST PB3-CPX master/slave modules can be configured as Profibus master, slave or master/slave. The modules offer up to 1,984 input bytes and 1,968 output bytes per master, making them suitable for large Profibus networks. SST PB3S-CPX Slave Modules feature up to 244 input bytes and 244 output bytes per slave, delivering high data throughput. Software configured as slave requires no ladder logic.

All three variants accommodate low-cost Ethernet cable and feature a 10/100 Mb Ethernet port that enables remote connections and monitoring. The modules provide backplane or front-module configuration options. SST Profibus modules also feature 1,000 V electrical isolation between ports, ensuring a robust, reliable network with high immunity to electrical noise. The modules are appropriate in applications such as material handling, packaging, agro-food, mining, and water/wastewater.
