Big Bear Automation

introduced

MomDevice (an acronym for Machine Observation Monitor),

a pre-integrated package for remote monitoring of factory machines and workstations. (Website has some fun demonstration video.) MomDevice.com is a method for understanding and supporting a piece of factory machinery.

The device passively links to any machine , snaps jpgs and video clips, and logs data onto an invisible, secured online Web drive. Up to 50 team users access machine status, logs and photos, charted signals, and recorded information via the Web application. The system, which sends email with media when alarm channel conditions require it, supports Web-enabled mobile devices. MomDevice becomes a portal for one machine with a private forum, IM, online document vault, and archived records. It requires no software, no engineering, no component assembly, and no programming, company says. Automated logging of process data, linked with Webcam images, is stored securely online for one year.

Applications include monitoring existing machines for asset management, newly installed equipment that requires buy-off support, and on-going process logging. Technician alignments and servicing notes are recorded. Users can check machine real-time status with pictures, current alarms, and drill down to find rejected parts. System integrators, machinery suppliers, and management can track daily total count, UPH, and uptime, as well as note who is working on the system, check facility equipment overseas and locally, and collaborate to share information about a single piece of machinery. Prices start at $3,600. MomDevice is suitable for multiple installations in a facility.
