More new technologies light up Hannover Fair ’98

If it didn’t feature countless products, it wouldn’t be the “world’s largest industrial fair.” More than 300,000 visitors examined products from close to 8,000 exhibitors during Hannover Fair ’98. For instance, new motor and drive products included Lenze ‘s 8200 Motec integral motor-drive unit, available in June. It was a part of a large Lenze stand in the fair’s Hall 11, showing a wide range of vector and servo drives and motor products.

Hall 12 housed a mixture of technologies from process to motion control. Control Engineering was in good company here with its “neighbors.” Directly across the aisle, Emotron , the Swedish/Dutch manufacturer displayed variable-frequency drives, motors, soft starters, and motor load monitors.

Endress+Hauser exhibited a gamut of flow, level, and pH/conductivity measuring products. Profibus PA communication is now incorporated on all E+H products.

Kollmorgen-Seidel showed its expanding Servostar family, including the latest model—Servostar CD (compact drive)—intended mainly for linear motors, and available in 3Q98. The company’s “Motioneering” motor sizing software has been translated to German, increasing the motor library’s content.
