Rochester, NY– Ormec Systems Corp. has enhanced its ServoWire Motion & Logic Controller (SMLC) family to offer four multi-axis models for packaging, material handling, medical, pharmaceutical, and general assembly applications. Available in 3-, 8-, 16- and 24-axis models, the controllers combine thebenefits of both motion control and PLC functions in a single package. With a true real-time operating system powered by Intel 32-bit processors, the SMLC is able to provide cost-effective computing power for demanding multi-axis motion and I/O control applications. The SMLC controllers interface with high-speed drive-based I/O for microsecond position capture, and offer single servo update response to sensor signals. They also provide sub-millisecond programmable limit switch outputs, tightly coupled to the motion control. For general purpose I/O applications, a variety of analog and digitalmodules can be connected. Ormec has been a manufacturer of fully integrated, closed loop motion control systems that combine motion controllers, logic control, drives, servo motors, HMIs and Firewire-based networking in a package since 1982.
