Motor performance curves available

Performance curves provide potential users with vital information for selecting the right electric motor for the job. Emerson Motor Technologies (St. Louis, MO) recently has made available performance curves for its standard motor lines through the company’s MotorBoss 3.0 online motor ordering and tracking system.

Performance curves provide potential users with vital information for selecting the right electric motor for the job. Emerson Motor Technologies (St. Louis, MO) recently has made available performance curves for its standard motor lines through the company’s MotorBoss 3.0 online motor ordering and tracking system.

Three types of performance curves are available free of charge to customers:

  • Performance (input power, efficiency, power factor, input current) vs. horsepower;

  • Performance vs. torque; and

  • Torque, current, power factor vs. rpm.

These performance curves supply a wealth of motor selection data. Among various uses of having complete motor performance curves on hand, customers can overlay their equipment/machine load torque requirements to check if the choice of motor has sufficient torque to accelerate loads to full speed.
