Physik Instrumente's (PI) V-551 motorized linear translation stage is designed for applications where constant velocity is required such as optics inspection, metrology, photonics, interferometry, and semiconductor test equipment. Courtesy: Physik InstrumPhysik Instrumente's (PI) V-551 motorized linear translation stage comes equipped with an integrated 2 nm resolution encoder. The V-551 is designed for applications where constant velocity is required such as optics inspection, metrology, photonics, interferometry, and semiconductor test equipment. Velocity to 500 mm/sec and quick acceleration is provided by an ironless magnetic linear motor, which is designed to provide accuracy and smooth motion. Precision crossed roller bearings with anti-creep cage assist provides guiding accuracy (1 ┬Ám straightness). The V-551 is available with several travel ranges up to 230 mm. Together with PI's C-891 controller, the V-551 stage forms a flexible and affordable positioning system. The travel range can be adjusted mechanically due to adjustable hard stops. The V-551 also has a peak force of 200 N and has a position measurement with an integrated absolute encoder.
