The DynaMotor from DynaMotors Inc. is an ac motor and variable-speed controller integrated into one package that, the company says, delivers ultra high torque at low speeds. For example, a NEMA 56 frame TEFC DynaMotor provides 11 ft lb of torque at 600 rpm continuously, allowing the unit to drive equipment directly without the need for gearing, chains, belts, and pulleys.
The DynaMotor connects directly to an ac line and controls the induced power on a wound rotor instead of using an inverter. Like a dc motor without brushes and commutator, it produces higher torque at lower speeds and increased torque with more field poles. The motor can be controlled by either wired commands or by wireless technology. It is also programmable and can be controlled by either digital or analog signals.
