Beckhoff Automation has announced full EtherNet/IP compatibility with TwinCAT, its the real-time control software.

Minneapolis— Bringing EtherNet/IP users the flexibility of open IEC 6 1131-3 compliant software, Beckhoff Automation has announced full EtherNet/IP compatibility with TwinCAT, its the real-time control software for machine and building automation. Via TwinCAT EtherNet/IP Slave (available in Windows XP and CE variants), one standard TwinCAT software package can communicate seamlessly with all devices from Beckhoff, which include Industrial PCs, embedded PCs and PLCs, as well as EtherNet/IP master devices from other vendors.
