New additions to Coriolis flowmeter line

ABB introduces two new compact units to its family of direct mass flow measurement products.ABB’s Measurement Products business has released its FCB330 and FCB350 compact flowmeters, part of the CoriolisMaster family of direct mass flow measurement products. Like the rest of the family, these provide accurate measurements of multiple variables with a single, compact device, including: flow (mass and volume, with accuracies to 0.1%), density, concentration, and temperature.

The new meters support pipe sizes from 0.5 to 6 in. (DIN15 to DIN150). Installation length and handling are identical for all models. The devices are available with an integrally mounted transmitter for reduced installation time and wiring, and a remote mount design. Approvals will include FDA, 3A, and EHEDG for hygienic applications.

The new double tube design has no moving parts and reduces the need for special up- or down-stream piping, saving more than 40% in length compared to typical sensor requirements. This helps minimize maintenance and installation space, and allows replacement of older flowmeters in tight places where Coriolis meters couldn’t be used in the past. The design also uses wide inner tube diameters, producing low pressure drops and high capacities.

The compact FCB330 and FCB350 units are designed for a variety of flow measurement applications in oil, gas, chemical, power, food, and beverage industries. The meter features an optimized sensor with excellent zero point and temperature stability. A sturdy design and advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technology allow detection of low flow signals and minimizes the effects of pipeline vibration and interference. The meter is suitable for self-draining installation so no measuring media residues remain inside.
