St. Louis —Los Gatos, CA, is the site of a new 6,000 square foot technology design center for Watlow , a designer and manufacturer of electric heaters, controllers, and temperature sensors. Engineers there will employ or deploy systems/application testing, thermal modeling, and product support for various applications such as process chamber and gas line heater manufacturing.
Such services, the company says, will help provide quick prototypes, improve time-to-market, and reduce cycle times for customers who wish to turn designs and concepts into products quickly. The facility also has the ability to test product solutions under real world conditions.
The center was designed specifically for customers in the semiconductor industry who face increasing pressure to shorten product development and cycle times. As part of its engineering center, Watlow created two new customer support groups. The systems test group provides systems-based testing, while the applications group offers application assistance, project management, and quick-turn prototyping.
