New building-system components from the August issue.
Heat-shrinkable tubing and protective wiring is resistant to high temperature, abrasion and most chemicals, fuels and solvents. The tubing is self-extinguishing and rated for continuous operation from -67°F to 347°F. (Kynar by Venmark International)
Web-based HVAC monitoring system continuously tracks performance. Sensors work with a thermostat to track discharge air temperature, return-air temperature and return-air humidity. The system also calculates the temperature difference between sensors, comparing the readings to benchmarked and calibrated values. A modem sends the readings to the web-based central monitoring station that instantly records the data and notifies the operator by fax or e-mail. (HVAC Equipment Monitoring System by Honeywell)
Light panels directly replace standard modular ceiling tiles across the entire ceiling or in designated areas. The tiles are ideally suited for casinos, theaters and hospitality venues. (Tivoli Starlite Panels by Targetti North America)
Low-profile fluorescent lamp series is best in lighting applications requiring attractive, tough and efficient luminaires. Both lamps are available for wall-, ceiling- and corner-mount installations in single- or row-mount configurations. Available in 8-in. and 12-in. widths with a choice of 2-ft. and 4-ft. lengths. (Millenium Stretch by Kenall)
Fire sensor uses advanced microprocessor technology and enhanced algorithms. The sensor is capable of digitally transmitting its address to the fire-alarm control panel as well as combined data consisting of an analog value from both the photoelectric chamber and the thermal element for analysis. This feature delivers enhanced performance and false-alarm reduction. (Analog Addressable Multi-Sensor by Gamewell Worldwide)
Icon-based operator-interface module for an AC drive is presented with an intuitive human interface, featuring a large LCD display and icons depicting functional groups so the user can locate and access drive variables. With four independent function keys on the keypad, the user can assign two separate functions, allowing for a total of eight operations, including preset speed commands and fault log access. (Reliance SP600 by Rockwell Automation)
Three- and four-way mixing valves are available in cast iron and brass construction. Designed for small commercial installations, the valves provide a cost-effective method for hydronic radiant-floor temperature control. Flow direction is interchangeable in all valves. (Termomix by Enerjee)
Coil series , applicable for indoor and outdoor HVAC systems, features improved dehumidification, thick fiberglass insulation, low airflow resistance and corrosion-resistant copper-rifled tubing. (C33 Coil Series by Lennox)
Light-emitting diode (LED) system includes complete modules, power supplies and connectors. System offers a life of up to 100,000 hours, is shock-resistant and available in a range of colors. (LEDs by Osram Sylvania)
Automatic fire-detection and suppression system detects fires inside an enclosed environment of 250 cubic feet or less. Featuring polymer tubing that ruptures when exposed to 212°F temperatures. The system forms a nozzle that dispenses a suppression agent at the fire's source. (Firetrace Automatic Fire Suppression Systems by Firetrace International)
Motor-control panel for boiler feeds is positioned near condensing pumps. Its reduced size also allows for installation in smaller areas. The panel features a motor-circuit protector that combines the functions of fuses, starters and overload protection in one unit, eliminating the need for six different components. (Duplex Pump Control Panel by Sterling)
Metal-halide lamp delivers 22 percent more light over its lifetime and is ideal for applications in retail ceilings, industrial facilities, floodlighting and warehouses, as well as various other general needs. (StayBright Multi-Vapor lamps by GE)
Circuit-balancing valve regulates and measures the flow of water in HVAC and plumbing systems and offers improved flow measurements. (DZR Balancing Valve from NIBCO)
Valve system used with neutral liquids and gases. Available in two versions: a stand-alone on/off unit with a single or double-acting piston actuator, or as a complete on/off process control valve. (Y-Pattern Angle Seat Valve by Burkert)
High-voltage film capacitors come in voltages from 10 to 55 kVDC. Small and lightweight, these devices function from -25° C to 100° C. (MVDF/ MVDO series by Seacor)
Electronics module allows five minute 'plug-and-play' repair of a magnetostrictive transducer, eliminating the need to depressurize a hydraulic cylinder and replace an entire transducer. Ideal for operations involving injection molding, die casters and metal stamping where downtime is not affordable. (Replaceable Electronics Module by Balluff)
