New Products for Electrical Systems

Enhanced series relays from SEL, disconnect switches from Hubbell Wiring, cable solutions by Corning and wireless mesh photo sensor from Cooper Lighting.



Series relays have been enhanced to provide new ways to integrate breaker control switches, local operator controls, and status indication into one piece of equipment to simplify installation and improve reliability. Operator pushbuttons allow users to control relay functions with a single button push. With target LEDs, operators can view status and alarms on the relay display. Built-in breaker control switches include arc-suppressed trip/close pushbuttons for reliable, independent breaker control. Disconnect switches combine the plug-and-play technology of the manufacturer’s LINKOSITY power system with its motor disconnect switches to reduce motor change-out time. The company claims by more than 65%. Terminations speed the change-out process by eliminating the need to cut conduit, pull wire, mount fittings and terminate individual wires. Cable connector solution introduces secure keyed LC connector, which provides network security in fiber-optic cabling, utilizing the small-form-factor LC connector format. The device was designed for organizations with a need to segregate networks due to privacy or security concerns, including secure government facilities and research labs.

Wireless mesh networked motion and photo sensor
operates HID, compact fluorescent, linear fluorescent and incandescent light sources for energy management in compliance with all new energy regulations. These devices can switch electronic or magnetic ballasted luminaires for functionality, dim electronic ballasted luminaires using 0- to 10-volt dimming control, and switch any electrical load up to 30 amps.
