New software: Loop performance suite includes MPC


ControlWizard control loop performance monitoring (CLPM) software from PAS now offers capabilities compatible with multivariable predictive control (MPC) platforms. While MPC provides important control functions, some users have been reluctant to adopt it due to the specialized maintenance required. ControlWizard MV provides comprehensive application monitoring automatically, so plants can use sophisticated control strategies more freely.

“Monitoring the performance of multivariable controllers is critical to ensuring the initial MPC investment continues to deliver on the expected benefits,” says Eddie Habibi, founder and CEO. “Our extensive background in the delivery of advanced process control applications gives us the upper hand in the design of this new application and we expect it to generate significant benefit for our clients worldwide.”

ControlWizard MV monitors and analyzes MPC performance, highlighting areas requiring attention. PAS says its key advantage is its ease-of-use and ability to condense analysis of complicated applications down to just two key performance indicators. Based on these, engineers can drill down as far as required to obtain additional information, statistics, trends, and reports to correct MPC performance problems.
