New ultrasonic flowmeter

AC powered sensor family uses transit time technology for a variety of fluids.

August 20, 2010

Hoffer Flow Controls has introduced its Transi-Flo I family, a new line of ac powered ultrasonic flowmeters designed to provide accurate measurement of conductive, non-conductive, and aggressive liquids. The Transi-Flo I uses transit-time technology to measure the difference in the waves traveling in and against the fluid flow direction.

These sensors are available in sizes from 1-1/4 to 12 in. pipe sizes, with single- and dual-beam configurations. Hoffer says this provides system accuracy of ±1% using single beam or ±0.5% using dual beam. The unit’s display provides rate and total, and can be mounted on the flowmeter sensor or positioned remotely. The company recommends the Transi-Flo I family for applications using clean water, sea water, sewage, process liquids, oils, chemicals, or any homogeneous liquids capable of ultrasonic wave propagation.
