Chicago, Ill. – GE Fanuc and its subsidiaries, VMIC and Computer Dynamics showed new display and computer products during the recent National Manufacturing Week Industrial Automation show.

New from Computer Dynamics :

DisplayPac-ARM, powered by an Intel StrongARM SA-1110 206 MHz single board computer, combines low power consumption while providing high-powered processing. The system includes a 10.4-in. SVGA color LCD at 600 nits indoors and 800 nits outdoors, while drawing less than 10 watts, providing maximum viewability in any environment. The product includes resistive touchscreen, operating temperature range of -40 to +70 °C, 32 MB synchronous DRAM and 32 MB Flash memory, type-II PCMCIA socket, and CompactFlash socket provides yet a third option for storage media. Interfaces include seven serial ports, 10BaseT Ethernet, analog and digital I/O ports, USB, PS/2 mouse and keyboard, and speaker and microphone interface.

Nd1200 industrial computing platform includes a 1.2 GHz Intel Pentium III processor with 133 MHz front-side bus, up to 512 MB of ECC SDRAM, and field-replaceable 41G EIDE hard disk drive housed in a 4U size enclosure. For applications requiring maximum fault-tolerance, the Nd1200 is available with a 300 W dual hot-swap power supply and a RAID-1 Controller with dual hot-swap SCSI drives.

VMIC introduces CompactPCI and PC/104 plus computers

VMICPCI-7505, a 3U CompactPCI single-board computer (SBC) incorporates 800 MHz Intel Pentium III low power technology, reducing thermal and power distribution requirements while providing high-end performance in a small package. This SBC provides 512 MB SDRAM, on-board Fast Ethernet, USB, and optional IDE hard drive. Standard RJ-45 Ethernet, serial, and USB connectors are provided on the front panel. An internal AGP graphics adapter supports high-resolution graphics and multimedia-quality video via Intel’s 815E chipset.

VMIPC4-7301 is a PC/104Plus x86 Geode GX1 processor-based single-board computer (SBC) offering processor speeds up to 333 MHz, less than 10 W total power dissipation, and PC/104-Plus expansion. Also included are an on-board Fast Ethernet controller supporting 10BaseT and 100BaseTX interfaces, up to 256 MB PC-133 SDRAM, and integrated 2D graphics.

GE Fanuc introduces next generation QuickPanel displays

The new generation of QuickPanel operator interface displays offer built-in Ethernet connectivity, 4 MB memory, and backlight burnout detection. Available in 7.5,’ 10.5,’ and 12.1′ sizes and designed to occupy minimal panel space, the new displays are designed for use in any size industrial application.

Like other members of the QuickPanel family, the new flat panel displays support both static and dynamic bitmap graphics. The dc-powered units consume only 50 watts of power and are rated for NEMA 4X/12, as well as Class 1/Division 2, UL, CUL, and CE.
