Chicago, Ill. – ifm efector announced release of a ferrous-only proximity switch with a multi-coil design enabling greater stability and long sensing range.

Suitable for applications like aluminum machining, this proximity features improved chip immunity than previous models eliminating false triggers, stainless steel face to prevent chips from adhering to or embedding in the plastic face, and IP68 protection rating. The 12 mm diameter switch has a 3 mm flush-mount sensing range, while the 18 mm switch has a 5 mm range. The switches are quick-disconnect dc units with PNP normally open output.
