Arlington, Tex.— The Senaco AS100 from Milltronics is a non-intrusive acoustic sensor that detects changes in flow rates and warns of impending problems. The unit has no moving parts, requires little to no maintenance, and is sealed against dust and moisture. The device measures high frequency sound waves created by bulk solids flowing through enclosures and converts this energy into an electrical signal that is continuously analyzed by sophisticated electronics. The sensor generates an output that can be measured by a dedicated CU 02 control unit or a PLC that accepts 0-10 V input. Sensor output can also be fed directly into a chart reader or data logger. It can be configured for set points indicating high flow, low flow or no flow. The control unit has two independent, programmable relays that can be used to operate alarms or switches, and can be added to an existing control loop via 4-20 mA output.
