In an effort to extend its packaged integration solutions into Asia, CrossWorlds Software Inc., formerly known as CrossRoads Software, announced Jan. 21 that it has formed business partnerships with Omron Corp. and Kanematsu Corp. Both companies will be responsible for marketing and selling CrossWorlds’ application integration software, or “Processware,” in a range of Japanese markets including health care, manufacturing, industrial automation, and information processing. Omron and Kanematsu join Compaq, J.D. Edwards, and Manugistics in investing in CrossWorlds during this $25 million round of funding. Using CrossWorlds software will allow Omron and Kanematsu to maintain and integrate current customers’ systems with the latest enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications quickly and more cost-effectively than by building independent integration solutions. “We’re excited to be working with such influential IT companies as Omron and Kanematsu,’ says Katrina Garnett, CrossWorlds Software’s founder, president and ceo. “While Japan is the second largest IT market worldwide, it still has many unique technology needs that require extensive knowledge of the Japanese market. By partnering with two of the leading system application companies in Japan, CrossWorlds will be able to bring the advantages of Processware to the Asian market quickly and more cost-effectively.”
