Omron names new COO and president

Schaumburg, IL—Omron Electronics, manufacturer of industrial automation products and solutions, appointed Gregg Holst to be the company’s chief operating officer and president, filling the vacancy created by the death of the previous COO and president.

Schaumburg, IL Omron Electronics , manufacturer of industrial automation products and solutions, appointed Gregg Holst to be the company’s chief operating officer and president, filling the vacancy created by the death of the previous COO and president. A graduate of Bradley University, Holst will direct the marketing, sales, and service operations of Omron in the U.S., Latin America, and Canada.

“Among Holst’s first tasks is increasing Omron’s market penetration to expand growth in both products and services,” said Omron’s Americas chief executive officer Tatsunosuke Goto in announcing Holst’s appointment. “Customers like Omron products but they do not know our company well enough to make us their primary automation partner. Gregg Holst has demonstrated great success in communications and will improve the company’s visibility [among] America’s manufacturers.”

Holst comes to Omron from serving as executive vice president of Revere Electric Supply Company in Chicago, IL since 1993, where he was instrumental in dramatically improving both the sales and service performance of the company. He previously worked in managerial positions at Square D Company in Palatine, IL and at General Electric Company in Fairfield, CT.
