Ann Arbor, Mich. —With OpenCNC version 2.0, customers can upgrade their own CNC control. OpenCNC is an unbundled, software-based CNC machine tool control. Unlike traditional CNC controllers, OpenCNC uses no proprietary hardware or motion control cards. The entire control is delivered on a disk. The latest release features the integration of ISaGraf Workbench PLC editor from TranSys Inc. (Gilbert, Ariz.), which supports all IEC 1131-3 languages. Users can select the appropriate language to define the I/O logic for their CNC machine tool.
