By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff

03/31/2009

With its new online training service, Gemba Academy effectively removes the three most common barriers to rapidly educating people and applying business excellence practices: the cost of professional training, lack of in-house expertise, and difficulty scheduling training time.
The academy offers on-demand, low cost online training in the fields of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, 5S, and project management by merging leading-edge technology and deep expertise in the application of business excellence practices.
Online training courses are available as six-month subscriptions for $495. These courses enable companies to deliver professional training to an unlimited number of people at a fraction of the traditional cost. In addition, new content will be added every month to these courses based on member feedback.
"Lean manufacturing has always been a key to success for ventures I have led,” says Kevin Meyer, Gemba Academy partner and founder of Factory Strategies Group . “With the ability of lean principles to reduce cost while increasing customer satisfaction, it is more essential than ever in today's economic storm. Gemba Academy allows me to accelerate the training of my people at a fraction of the cost we used to pay consultants."
Free training modules are available for preview on the subjects of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S at www.gembaacademy.com/preview
"We are deeply committed to making knowledge about continuous improvement as widely available as possible," says Ron Pereira, chief instructor for Gemba Academy and Lean Six Sigma master black belt. "I am eager to give back and share all that I have learned over the past 15 years."

Get more exposure for your case study by uploading it to the Control Engineering case study database, where end-users can identify relevant solutions and explore what the experts are doing to effectively implement a variety of technology and productivity related projects.

These case studies provide examples of how knowledgeable solution providers have used technology, processes and people to create effective and successful implementations in real-world situations. Case studies can be completed by filling out a simple online form where you can outline the project title, abstract, and full story in 1500 words or less; upload photos, videos and a logo.
