The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) reports that it’s partnering with technology software developer BDMetrics to streamline the upcoming Pack Expo tradeshow experience with a personalized, Web-based tool available for each visitor. The “My Pack Expo” software tool intelligently mines through the event’s database of people, products, and conference sessions, and generates a customized report tailored to the attendee’s individual needs and interests. Pack Expo is scheduled for Sept. 26-28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“My Pack Expo will deliver focused, relevant information to all of our attendees based on their business needs and preferences,” says Charles Yuska, PMMI’s president. “Pack Expo has a strong history and track record of delivering results, and My Pack Expo will make the process of finding the right packaging solution even easier for our attendees.”

My Pack Expo will be released to support Pack Expo Las Vegas 2005, which is reportedly the Western hemisphere’s largest packaging show of the year. The show and the co-located Food Processing Machinery Expo (FPM Expo) will feature more than 1,200 machinery, materials, components, and container exhibits, occupying 500,000 net square feet.

After attendees register, they will receive an e-mail with a personalized report detailing people they should meet, companies they should visit, and conference sessions they should attend, all based on the preference each attendee outlines when they register. This report will be updated as the show dates approach.

“This technology vastly expands on the overall purpose of the trade shows, which is to bring buyers and sellers together in one place,” adds George Melnykovich, president and CEO of the Food Processing Machinery Association, which produces FPM Expo.

The My Pack Expo Web site uses BDMetrics’ “U Based” relationship technology, which continually matches an attendee’s interests to the event’s content. Rick Geritz, BDMetrics’ president and CEO, adds that, “PMMI is a consistent innovator, seeking ways to further enhance the value received from attending Pack Expo.”

My Pack Expo technology will be fully integrated with ExpoExchange, which is the registration, sales, lead management, and online event service solutions provider for the show. It will be available beginning this month for exhibitors and registered attendees.
