Pharmaceutical: Process analytical software partnership


Matrikon Inc . and Umetrics Inc. recently announced a partner agreement to provide a combination of software packages for the seamless installation of process analytical technology (PAT) for the pharmaceutical market. Umetrics and Matrikon will offer ProcessMonitor products for integration of Umetrics' Simca-P+ and Simca-Batch On-Line data analysis products with manufacturing, process, analytical, and laboratory information management systems.

"For large-scale adoption by the life science industry of the FDA's PAT initiative, the ability of our SIMCA-P+ and SBOL products to seamlessly collect, manage, and analyze data from all sources of process and process-related data becomes essential," explains Nouna Kettaneh, Umetrics general manager. "We have chosen Matrikon and their ProcessMonitor line of integration products to provide the one-stop solution for real-time batch monitoring for the pharma and biotech industries."

Frank Vanderham, ProcessMonitor product manager at Matrikon adds that "having a one-stop solution that meets the pharmaceutical and biotech industries' needs and challenges in terms of data collection and, in particular, integration of their regulatory data stores makes Umetrics' offering unique. By using ProcessMonitor, Umetrics has ensured their customers have virtually unlimited options in using any and all data sources for real-time decision making."
