Phoenix Contact celebrates 75 years, new office

Phoenix Contact Inc. celebrated its parent company's recent 75th anniversary and the completion of its four-story office center in Pennsylvania with an Oct. 1 open house. Ribbon cutters at the new building included former Pennsylvania governor and former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh.

Harrisburg, Pa. Phoenix Contact Inc. celebrated its parent company's recent 75th anniversary and the completion of its four-story office center in Pennsylvania with an Oct. 1 open house. Ribbon cutters at the new building included former Pennsylvania governor and former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh. Gov. Tom Ridge also visited the new facility. The 700 employees, customers, and distributors attending were entertained by veteran singer/actor Ben Vereen.

"As a result of continuing growth in our product lines, we found it necessary to once again expand our operations in central Pennsylvania," says Don Springer, Phoenix Contact's president. In the past five years, the company's workforce has grown by 66%. The 40,000-ft2addition houses technical and customer services. Phoenix Contact is a subsidiary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. (Blomberg, Germany).
