Aix-en-Provence, Cedex, France - CXSYS from PLDA Applications is a dedicated frame grabber for real time image processing in embedded applications in CompactPCI environment. Its features include full HotSwap capability, compliant with the PCI SIG PCI Local Bus Specification Revision 2.2, and compliant with the PICMG CompactPCI Specification, Revision 2.1 and with the PICMG Hot Swap Specification, Revision 1.0. Hot Swap is the ability to do 'live removal' and 'live insertion' of boards and other components, while the system is running. CXSYS fully supports this feature and can be removed or inserted while this system is running.

The board captures images from digital frame and line scan sources including multi-tap configurations. It supports both monochrome and RGB images from one to four camera channels, contains two RS-232 ports and two external trigger inputs, 4 MB onboard buffering RAM, and support for full Camera Link up to 85 MHz. Software development kit available for Microsoft Windows 2000/NT and allows interface to other products like LabView from National Instruments. The product allows dynamic reprogramming of firmware over the PCI bus.
