XSYS is a PCI and CompactPCI framegrabber also available as a standalone box. This board supports RS422 or LVDS IO path up to 100 MHz. XSYS accepts image data from 1 to 4 area or line scan cameras providing monochrome or RGB images.

The XSYS operates as a 32bit or 64bit PCI bus master/target agent. The bus master mode transfers video data without requiring continuous host intervention at rates up to 528 Mbytes/second.

This capacity permits acquisition of high-speed and high-resolution images, for example 12 bits 4 Mpixels images up to 28 frames /second. The master mode can also transfer images data directly to other PCI agents such as hard disk storage, without using the host memory.

XSYS board integrates preprocessing algorithms and can offer a large programmable space for custom preprocessing. This configuration enhances PC performances, saving processing power on the host CPU. Host CPU can then be dedicated to application algorithms.

The preprocessing is based on the Programmable Logic Devices technology, used as the single point of acquisition and processing on the board. PLDA uses Altera devices for embedded high-speed data and signal processing.

The product offers onboard buffering with 4 MB SRAM and 256 MB SDRAM in option. In addition, a non-volatile 1MB Flash RAM offers onboard storage typically used to memorize control parameters for cameras, allowing the framegrabber to re-initialize the system in a very short time during power on.
