Power generation for industrial electric carts

The Bosch “GPA” DC electric motor is available for installation in industrial electric carts, generating a nominal torque of 2.2 Nm, breakaway torque of 11 Nm.


The Bosch i-Business Group has made the Bosch “GPA” DC electric motor available for installation in industrial electric carts that are designed to transport materials and finished goods in manufacturing and distribution facilities, or ferry luggage and passengers throughout high-traffic airports, shopping malls and entertainment parks.

Kenn Langosch, Sales Manager for Industrial Motors for Bosch, says, “Bosch permanent-magnet GPA motors are extremely reliable. That’s very important to facility transportation coordinators who are under constant pressure to keep things moving along according to schedule in dynamic settings like product distribution centers and crowded airports.” Langosch adds that Bosch GPA motors offer long service life, saying, “That’s an advantage that electric cart manufacturers can readily feature when marketing their utility vehicles to potential customers.”

Another advantage for electric cart manufacturers is the motor’s power/weight ratio, the company says. The 750-watt Bosch GPA motor weighs approximately 3.80 kg. Other key design characteristics of the Bosch GPA motor include nominal current of 40.0 amps and nominal speed of 3300 min-1. The motor generates a nominal torque of 2.2 Nm and breakaway torque of 11 Nm. The motor’s direction of rotation can be set up to rotate either left or right.
