Intergraph Corp. will include Kraftwerks Kennzeichnungs System (KKS) process plant designation standards within its SmartPlant Enterprise solutions suite. SmartPlant Enterprise is integrated software with rule-based engineering that facilitates fast-tracking projects with data consistency across disciplines and global work teams.
SmartPlant Enterprise Solutions has the ability to define and exchange KKS plant breakdown structures and component codes and the capability to define KKS naming rules. These will be enriched with KKS content, reducing overall project start-up times and increasing design consistency. By delivering predefined KKS content for SmartPlant Enterprise tools, such as SmartPlant Instrumentation or SmartPlant Electrical, Intergraph customers can benefit from existing software capabilities and expedite the engineering processes.
Intergraph, which describes KKS libraries as the industry standard for consistent, systematic classification of power plants, says it is the first company to receive permission from VGB PowerTech e.V. to pre-configure solutions with KKS standards. VGB PowerTech e.V is an industry association that issues guidelines for the development, construction, and operation of power plants.
"Our agreement with VGB is part of an overall initiative by Intergraph to support critical industry standards, with a strategic focus on the power industry to assist our clients in meeting the growing demand for power globally," said Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine. "Now, more than ever before, Intergraph is well equipped to meet the needs of the power industry by offering value-added solutions, trained industry experts to support our customers, and design templates to facilitate fast project start-up and execution."
