APS introduced its 400 Watt Switching Power supply with industrial or medical specifications.

Advanced Power Solutions (APS) introduced a 400 Watt Switching Power Supply measuring 8 x 5 x 1.60-in. that is said to offer “full-featured status and control signals for today’s leading edge systems,” and to handle peak loads up to 700 W, (often required during systems start-up).

These supplies feature universal ac input with active power-factor correction, single outputs ranging from 2.5-58 V dc, and output power up to 400 W. Today’s systems often demand more than raw power from the system power supply; this supply offers single-wire parallel remote sense, remote voltage margining (50-100% of rated V dc), current monitor, remote on/off, and power fail signals with an auxiliary fan output (12 V fan, 160 mA).
