Process control blog: Technology, dialogue focus of new Web postings

By Control Engineering Staff April 3, 2007

Oak Brook, IL Control Engineering ‘s newest home page blog features the musings of process industries editor Peter Welander. Pillar to Post bills itself as a ‘meandering path through the world of process industry automation and other matters.’

The blog will contain items gleaned from Welander’s editorial research, conference attendance, and industry discussions. His responsibilities include two e-newsletters, Process & Advanced Control Monthly and Process Instrumentation & Sensors Monthly , in addition to regular magazine contributions. The blog will contain items that are informative or interesting but might not qualify for coverage in other areas. Moreover, readers will have an opportunity to offer their comments and feedback to the postings and to other articles.

‘The blog allows me to discuss issues and smaller topics that might never have a chance to reach readers any other way,’ says Welander. ‘Web publishing affords us the flexibility to pursue a broader range of issues than more traditional publishing. I hope the people who read the e-newsletters will use it as a forum for technology discussions that begin there, particularly those that relate to legacy environments.’

Control Engineering expects new postings to be made two to three times per week. Pillar to Post joins CE ‘s other blogs, Ask Charlie and the Baton Rouge Wastewater System saga, posted by system integrator QDS Systems.
